About
A combination of drug that contains morphine like substance pain reliever and fever reducer commonly found in over-the-counter products is what you call an ultracet. This is a drug sanctioned to treat short-term pain. Meaning this medication should only be used for a short period of time like five days or less. This prescription is taken every four to six hours as asked for pain.
Composition
There are two components of ultracet namely acetaminophen an over the counter pain reliever that is use to block the body’s production of prostaglandins a natural chemical that our body secretes that can cause inflammation and fever. The other component is what you call the tramadol hydrochloride which is said to be a central acting opioid pain reliever that works in the central nervous system like the brain and spinal cord. One substance of ultracet can be bind to an opioid receptor more likely morphine that can affect two important brain chemicals, the serotonin a chemical that is responsible for our sleep, depression and memory, and the other natural chemical in the body being secreted by the adrenal medulla called norepinephrine. What helps ultracet being effective in relieving pain is a chemical called acetaminophen a pain reliever and fever reducer mostly found in a non-prescribed medications such as tylenol. The most common acronym for the chemical name for aceteminophen is APAP.
Effects
The medicine has been soundly studied in clinical trials and like any other medicines; it has its own side effects. Yet not every person who takes the prescription experienced. If ever there is side effect it is only tolerable and can be easily treated by your physician. Common side effects include but not limited to dizziness, nausea, drowsiness, diarrehea, increased sweating and constipation. Other possible side effects include weakness, fatigue, hot flashes, anxiety, confusion, unusual pleasant or nice feeling, vomiting, gas, indigestion, heartburn, abdominal pain, nervousness, shakiness and headaches. Is Generic Tramadol/Acetaminophen as Good as Ultracet?
The Food and Drug Administration decides if the generics are equivalent to the brand-name medicine and assign rating after running several tests. A rating of “AB” indicates that the geeneric is equivalent. So far all generic tramadol has a rating of “AB”.
